Boomstick's Problem-Free Philosophy

I have always been a massive Death Battle! fangirl, ever since first watching it in 2014. In particular, I have shown great interest in the character of Boomstick, one of the two co-hosts of the show, despite common sense telling me to know better. On the one hand, he's an unashamed pervert obsessed with violence, guns and alcohol. But on the other hand, there's another side to him that serves to contradict what appear to be his most obvious traits.

Being someone who likes to indulge in writing, I thought that I might do a series of fan comics focusing on Boomstick, both implementing traits shown in the original web series and implementing my own head canon for him. Most of it will be humorous, though there will definitely be more serious fare in the mix, as given the comments he has made on his parents and love life, his life in general seems to have been...tumultuous, say we say?

Anyway, this is my first uploaded comic of the batch! Obviously my illustrations by web-comic standards are sub-par at the moment (kinda like Sonichu), but hopefully I'll either be able to find someone with better artistic talents in the future or learn how to be a better artist. For now though, let's just go with the interpretation that this is how Boomstick would draw himself. Whenever we need to see his own artistic talents in the future, these illustrations will return. For those of you wondering, the pictures were coloured in via a watercolour pencil, which smudges once you get water near it. It turns out pretty well on paper, though unfortunately it does go pretty faint once scanned onto a computer, so I had to adjust some settings. Hopefully, once I get my new laptop in the next couple of months to replace my currently dying one, I can finally use something like Photoshop. It felt like wasted time paying for it when my current laptop was about to give out, though maybe there is a way to download it for free. I also used some collage for the flamethrower - originally I was going to use an actual photo of a flamethrower, but it was distributed by someone I don't share the same political views of and I was also wary in case of any copyright. I might go back and do more outlines for the figures if necessary (especially for those shadows on the bottom right).

This blog format is what I will stick to at the moment, though it may change in the future. I will also be pretty sporadic with any upload schedule, since I'm trying to multitask with other things at the moment and need further inspiration for some of the comics. That said, I've still got some ideas for future comics on this website. :)
